On April 18th-19th, 2023, WoteSawa in collaboration with IOM-Tanzania and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) through the Anti-Trafficking Secretariat (ATS), capacitated school club pupils of Kisuma and Nyakitonto Primary Schools at Kigoma District Council in Kigoma Region on issues of Human Trafficking and the extent to which children have become victims of the illegal business.
In the said activity which involved Teachers, Social Welfare Officers and Educational Officers from the council, the pupils were able to explain their experiences on how their fellows dropped out of school and forced to engage in harmful employment including domestic work.
The pupils are expected to become ambassadors of change to fellow pupils inside and outside their schools.
